Now scientists have identified some more functions of mesentery; like immunity, control of obesity and it’s ultimate influence on female fertility and it’s role in sexual competency.
Thus in my words, mesentery may be designated not only a policeman of the abdomen but may be called as the Mother of the abdomen as it involves and cares in almost all issues of the abdomen. Whenever you get an appendicitis, mesentery runs to the appendix and hold it like a mother hen holds its chick under its arms, like a kangaroo holds its kids in her pouch. Whenever you get a trauma to the abdomen, it is mesentery who comes first to protect you from further damage to the intestine and other abdominal organs. It’s 8 feet long and 6 feet broad structure that hold Yorkshire intestine like a mother, who is caring, loving and guarding you even if you are asleep.
So Mesentery is not mere an organ; it’s God’s gift to all living beings.
